Why Is This Project Important To Me
This project started off as a nuisance. It was what we were nagged to do at the end of the day. I hadn't paid much attention to this project when it was introduced to us at the beginning of the year. By the end, this project was the only thing on my mind. As I started researching and looking into solar energy, I learned that our world is in trouble. We are the generation that has to step up and fix this planet for the next generation or else there won’t be one. Bill McKibben said, "There is an urgent need to stop subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, dramatically reduce wasted energy, and significantly shift our power supplies from oil, coal, and natural gas to wind, solar, geothermal, and other renewable energy sources." If we don't do this then slowly but surely our world will come to an end. I don’t want my kids to grow up in a world like this so I'm going to change it. I'm going to do what I can and much more to help provide the next generation with the clean, green, earth they deserve.
What Did I Learn From This Project?
I learned so much from this project. I guess you could say it was a slap of reality about what's really going on. I've learned not only things about solar energy and different renewable resources but I also learned more about being able to cooperate and split up work as well working as a team to get things done. We are in grave danger and no one really notices yet because the sky isn’t falling and the sun hasn’t burnt out. What they don’t understand is that everything is happening whether we choose to believe it or not. What they also don’t know is that we are the future. We need to update our system. Solar energy is the way to go. As Dan Quayle, the 44th vice president of the United States, once said, "It's time for the human race to enter the solar system."
